Road trip part 2

And we continued our world flight going east every day.... Mount Kilimanjaro behind my shoulder..



The Seychelles! No wooden boat there I could see




Maldives, great snorkeling but wooden boats are extinct.


Cambodia Wes my favorite spot. The only place so far where I would gladly return with my family.



I spent hours at that boat shop watching craftsmen at work building these lake sampans with nothing but nor skill saw, 2 axes, one planer, one angle grinder and 2 adze and a few hammers.


All unsightly gaps are filled with a mixture of tree sap and Portland cement.


Plank are held in place with oversize staples forged from rebars.


Then we feasted on BBQed snakes. Yum


Went to Thailand after and then NewGuinea....scary place.


No pictures from Fiji, nothing from the overnight in Maui. I had 3 great days in Vancouver with my wife and kids. Then one last trip to Patagonia before I can return home to Salt Spring Island for what I hope will be a quiet winter.


Iguazu falls... Pretty..
