The frame

Finally the frame of my new SOF dory is finish ready for oiling. I have been working on this gem part time all winter and I am thrilled. This is going to be our family boat this summer. It tip the scale at 60pds for now but with the skin and coating it should come out at a manageable 85pds. Incredible for a 14 feet Swampscott Dory. As an open boat, I do not dread the skinning process because the frame will remain fully exposed. This is by far the biggest project I have done as of yet and I am growing anxious about deciding what will follow this project. In a few weeks the dory will take to the water for the first time. I will post pictures of the sea trials and I will post the detail of the next project.
